Miguel Duarte Alonso nace en la ciudad de Motril, provincia de Granada (España). Desde que tiene uso de razón siente una fuerte pasión por la música; su madre es una magnífica profesora de piano y su padre un gran melómano, amante del jazz y la música clásica, por lo que desde bien pequeño aprende a amar y valorar la música como lo que és; algo único. De su infancia, una de las cosas más agradables que recuerda es el levantarse por las mañanas con el sonido del piano de su madre o con el último disco que en esos momentos se hubiera comprado su padre.
Empezó a montar sus primeros grupos musicales a mediados de 1991. Al primer grupo le puso por nombre; "Corrosión y Decadencia". En él, junto con sus compañeros, tocaba una mezcla de Punk y Hard Core que fue evolucionando hacia el Thrash Metal. Empezaron siendo un quinteto de nombre -Korrosión-, pero pronto pasarían a ser un trío: Antonio Pineda (bajo y coros), Daniel Masegosa (batería y coros) y Miguel Duarte (voz, guitarras, letrista y compositor) y a llamarse C.Y.D. (Corrosión y Decadencia). Con ese grupo sacaron a la luz una demo grabada en directo en el local de "Caín" (otra formación de rock de la zona) las tardes del 14 y el 15 de diciembre a la cual Miguel Duarte tituló: "Divina Decepción".  C.Y.D.  actuaron en televisiones locales, entrevistas en la radio y dieron conciertos por toda la zona.

Miguel Duarte Alonso was born in the city of Motril, province of Granada (Spain). Since he can remember he feels a strong passion for music; his mother is a magnificent piano teacher and his father is a great music lover, jazz and classical music lover, so from a very young age he learns to love and value music for what it is; something unique. From his childhood, one of the most pleasant things he remembers is waking up in the morning to the sound of his mother's piano or to the last record his father had bought at that time.
He began to put together his first musical groups in the middle of 1991. He named his first group "Corrosion and Decadence". In it, along with his bandmates, he played a mixture of Punk and Hard Core that evolved into Thrash Metal. They started out as a quintet by the name of Korrosión, but soon became a trio: Antonio Pineda (bass and backing vocals), Daniel Masegosa (drums and backing vocals) and Miguel Duarte (vocals, guitars, lyricist and composer) and renamed themselves C.Y.D. (Corrosión y Decadencia). With this group they released a demo recorded live at the premises of "Caín" (another rock band from the area) on the afternoons of December 14th and 15th, which Miguel Duarte called "Divina Decepción" (Divine Deception). C.Y.D. performed on local TV, radio interviews and gave concerts all over the area.

Algo después, las inquietudes musicales de Miguel Duarte Alonso le hicieron querer investigar, experimentar, fusionar con otros estilos, y fue cuando a finales de 1992, junto al mismo baterísta (Daniel Masegosa "Junior") crea su segundo grupo; "Crisis Personal". En este grupo experimentaba con el rock, la psicodelia e incluso el gótico. La formación fue la siguente: Antonio Castellón (bajo), Daniel Masegosa "Junior" (batería), Manolo Martín "El Punk" (voz y guitarra rítmica) y Miguel Duarte (guitarra solista, coros, letrista y compositor). 
Aunque la vida de aquel grupo fue relativamente corta, aquellos tiempos y experiencias las recordará siempre con muchísimo cariño. 
Fruto de aquellas sesiones fue una demo grabada en el propio local donde el grupo ensayaba en aquellos tiempos. Esta grabación se realizó en las últimas noches de febrero de 1993, contando como "ingeniero de sonido" al infatigable Jesus Vázquez, miembro de los desaparecidos "Subterráneos". La demo llevó como titulo el mismo nombre del grupo: "Crisis Personal". Solo se distribuyó entre los más allegados.

Some time later, Miguel Duarte Alonso's musical concerns made him want to investigate, experiment, fuse with other styles, and it was at the end of 1992 when, together with the same drummer (Daniel Masegosa "Junior"), he created his second band; "Crisis Personal". In this band he experimented with rock, psychedelia and even gothic. The line-up was as follows: Antonio Castellón (bass), Daniel Masegosa "Junior" (drums), Manolo Martín "El Punk" (vocals and rhythm guitar) and Miguel Duarte (lead guitar, backing vocals, lyricist and composer).
Although the life of that group was relatively short, those times and experiences will always be remembered with great affection.
The result of those sessions was a demo recorded in the same place where the group rehearsed in those days. This recording was made in the last nights of February 1993, counting as "sound engineer" the indefatigable Jesus Vázquez, member of the disappeared "Subterráneos". The demo was titled with the same name of the band: "Crisis Personal". It was only distributed among the most close friends.

Con el tiempo, siguiendo más aún, por el camino de la experimentación, Crisis Personal cambia de nombre,  endurece su estilo y da un toque algo más oscuro a las canciones. El nombre elegido para esta nueva etapa fue: "Extraño Sonido". La formación: Antonio Castellón (bajo), Mario Guillen (voz), Daniel Masegosa "Junior" (batería) y Miguel Duarte Alonso (guitarras, coros, letrista y compositor). Con este grupo, emisoras de radio como Onda Sur y Onda Cero, les hicieron entrevistas, dieron conciertos junto a gente como Antonio Arias (fundador y líder de Lagartija Nick) y grabaron una demo en junio a la que Miguel Duarte Alonso tituló; "Experiencias.
Como anécdota contar que en 1993, Miguel Duarte Alonso recibe la propuesta de continuar con la dirección y presentación de un programa de radio dedicado a la difusión del Thrash Metal y otros géneros de metal extremo que se emitía en la emisora de Radio Municipal; Onda Sur Motril. Miguel, debido a su pasión por la música y la temática del programa en cuestión, se ilusiona con el proyecto y accede a coger las riendas de dicho programa. Con el tiempo el contenido va evolucionando; Miguel decide, además de realizar entrevistas a grupos locales, introducir más estilos y géneros del rock y el metal de todos los tiempos, creando del programa un lugar de encuentro entre estilos, en él se pinchaba desde el rock ´n´roll, el rock y la psicodélia de los años sesenta y setenta hasta el metal más extremo, el heavy en todas sus variantes y subgéneros, el punk, etc. El programa se emitió entre los años 1993 y 1994, su nombre; “Rockanuto”.

Eventually, following the path of experimentation, Crisis Personal changes its name, hardens its style and gives a darker touch to the songs. The name chosen for this new stage was: "Extraño Sonido". The line-up: Antonio Castellón (bass), Mario Guillen (vocals), Daniel Masegosa "Junior" (drums) and Miguel Duarte Alonso (guitars, backing vocals, lyricist and composer). With this group, radio stations such as Onda Sur and Onda Cero did interviews with them, gave concerts with people like Antonio Arias (founder and leader of Lagartija Nick) and recorded a demo in June which Miguel Duarte Alonso titled; "Experiencias.
As an anecdote, in 1993, Miguel Duarte Alonso received the proposal to continue with the direction and presentation of a radio program dedicated to the dissemination of Thrash Metal and other extreme metal genres that was broadcast on the Municipal Radio station; Onda Sur Motril. Miguel, due to his passion for music and the theme of the program in question, is excited about the project and agrees to take the reins of the program. Over time the content evolves; Miguel decides, in addition to conducting interviews with local bands, to introduce more styles and genres of rock and metal of all time, creating a meeting place between styles, in it was played from rock 'n' roll, rock and psychedelia of the sixties and seventies to the most extreme metal, heavy in all its variants and subgenres, punk, etc.. The program was broadcasted between 1993 and 1994, its name; "Rockanuto".

Además de tocar la guitarra, Miguel Duarte Alonso siempre ha sido multi-instrumentista, por lo que saca partido musical a todo aquello que cae en sus manos. En octubre de 1995, los miembros del grupo de rock; "Caín", siendo conscientes de ello, piden a Miguel Duarte Alonso que les haga el favor de ocuparse del bajo de cara a la grabación de su nuevo elepé, titulado; "... Y lo negro será blanco...". Miguel Duarte Alonso accedió y colaboró de manera totalmente desinteresada como bajista y coros en dicho elepé, además de colaborar en las actuaciones posteriores que se hicieron (gira titulada: "Del negro al blanco tour´96-97") por poblaciones como Adra (junto a Lagartija Nick) Albuñol, Lanjarón, etc, y apariciones y entrevistas, tanto en televisiones locales, como en emisoras de radio.

In addition to playing guitar, Miguel Duarte Alonso has always been a multi-instrumentalist, so he takes musical advantage of everything that falls into his hands. In October 1995, the members of the rock band "Cain", being aware of this, asked Miguel Duarte Alonso to do them the favor of playing bass for the recording of their new LP, titled ".... Y lo negro será blanco...". Miguel Duarte Alonso agreed and collaborated in a totally disinterested way as bassist and backing vocals in the above mentioned LP, besides collaborating in the later performances that were made (tour titled: "Del negro al blanco tour'96-97") by towns like Adra (next to Lagartija Nick) Albuñol, Lanjarón, etc, and appearances and interviews, so much in local televisions, as in radio stations.

Paralelamente a sus andaduras por el mundo del rock, Miguel Duarte Alonso, siendo autodidacta por naturaleza, al tener claro que lo que más le gusta es la música, se presenta a varios cursos por libre, cursos que aprueba con las más altas calificaciones, y se dedica a estudiar en el Conservatorio, la carrera de Guitarra Clásica. A su vez, sigue formándose con respecto a otros instrumentos, como el piano; En marzo de 1995, asiste en Motril (Granada) a un curso de piano enfocado hacia el Blues, impartido por el pianista de Jazz Latino; Chano Domínguez. Este curso fue organizado por el Conservatorio Elemental de Música de Motril (hoy en día; Conservatorio Profesional de Música “Antonio Lorenzo” de Motril).
En octubre de 1996, Miguel Duarte Alonso obtiene el Premio de Honor, fin de Grado Elemental, en la especialidad de Guitarra.
Como anécdota hay que decir que anteriormente a Miguel Duarte Alonso, este premio no se había otorgado nunca en Motril a ningún músico, por lo que para poder realizar el diploma acreditativo tuvieron que pedir el modelo a Valencia.

Parallel to his wanderings in the world of rock, Miguel Duarte Alonso, being self-taught by nature, being clear that what he likes most is music, he attends several free courses, courses that he passes with the highest marks, and is dedicated to study at the Conservatory, the career of Classical Guitar. In March 1995, he attended a piano course in Motril (Granada) focused on the Blues, given by the Latin Jazz pianist Chano Domínguez. This course was organized by the Conservatorio Elemental de Música de Motril (nowadays; Conservatorio Profesional de Música "Antonio Lorenzo" de Motril).
In October 1996, Miguel Duarte Alonso obtains the Prize of Honor, end of Elementary Grade, in the specialty of Guitar.
As an anecdote it must be said that before Miguel Duarte Alonso, this prize had never been awarded in Motril to any musician, so in order to make the diploma they had to ask for the model to Valencia.

La pasión que Miguel Duarte Alonso siente por el rock y la guitarra eléctrica no se desvanecía, al contrario, crecía más y más, así que a mediados de octubre de 1997 asiste en Talavera de la Reina (Toledo) al 1º Clinic organizado por Didáctica Musical. Este Clinic fue impartido por el virtuoso guitarrista norteamericano Joey Tafolla.
1997 fue el año en que Miguel Duarte Alonso llega a Granada capital, para continuar con sus estudios en el Real Conservatorio Superior de Música "Victoria Eugenia". Además, se matricula en el bachillerato artístico donde sigue desarrollándose en otras ramas del arte y relacionándose con otro tipo de artistas. En 1998 junto a compañeros de clase del Bachillerato artístico, monta un grupo, allí en Granada, al cual pone de nombre "Navajos".
En marzo de 1998 y mayo de 1999, Miguel Duarte Alonso, realiza unos cursos de perfeccionamiento de guitarra impartidos por el gran concertista Marcos Socias. Dichos cursos fueron organizados por el Real Conservatorio Superior de Música “Victoria Eugenia” de Granada y llevados a cabo en Granada y La Zubia (Granada). 
Ya en aquellos tiempos tiene el fuerte deseo de expresarse como artista solista, y a partir de ese año; 1998, su ilusión es continuar su carrera como autor en ese campo, y por lo tanto no deja de componer, paralelamente a sus estudios. 
En noviembre de 2001, termina el Grado Medio de Música (PLAN 66) especialidad Guitarra, en el Real Conservatorio Superior de Música “Victoria Eugenia” de Granada, obteniendo el titulo de Profesor de Guitarra.

Miguel Duarte Alonso's passion for rock and electric guitar did not fade, on the contrary, it grew more and more, so in mid-October 1997 he attended the 1st Clinic organized by Didáctica Musical in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo). This Clinic was given by the virtuoso American guitarist Joey Tafolla.
1997 was the year in which Miguel Duarte Alonso arrived in the city of Granada to continue his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music "Victoria Eugenia". In addition, he enrolled in the artistic baccalaureate where he continued to develop in other branches of art and interacting with other artists. In 1998, together with his classmates from the artistic baccalaureate, he formed a group in Granada, which he named "Navajos".
In March 1998 and May 1999, Miguel Duarte Alonso attended some guitar improvement courses given by the great concert guitarist Marcos Socias. These courses were organized by the Royal Conservatory of Music "Victoria Eugenia" of Granada and were held in Granada and La Zubia (Granada).

Miguel realizó los estudios de Grado Superior también en el Real Conservatorio Superior de Música "Victoria Eugenia" de Granada.
Al llegar el año 2004, teniendo más tiempo para dedicar a su música, Miguel Duarte Alonso, bajo el seudónimo de “Piraña D.”, saca a la luz a finales de junio, su primera Demo en solitario, la titula: “Pequeña muestra de dolor”. En ella fue el compositor e intérprete de todos los instrumentos y voces que aparecen, además de haber hecho todo lo demás; diseño de portada, mezclas, etc. (hay que añadir que desde el comienzo de su andadura en solitario, Miguel Duarte Alonso realiza sus trabajos sin colaboración alguna, ocupándose de todo íntegramente; desde la composición e interpretación de todos los instrumentos, la batería la realiza con una caja de ritmos Boss Dr. Rhythm 770 utilizando patrones inventados y creados por el mismo para cada canción, hasta la realización de las mezclas, diseño de las portadas, etc, como antes decía). 
Lo que Miguel Duarte Alonso ofrece en “Pequeña muestra de dolor” es un trabajo de carácter melancólico, oscuro e intimista, pero sin dejar a un lado su pasión por la electricidad y la contundencia del rock. Las canciones que contiene esta Demo son 6: -Al borde de las interferencias-, -Los sueños, sueños son-, -Mi vida anterior-, -Entre conciencia y placer-, -Vacía- y -Brisa del mar-.

Miguel also studied the Superior Music Degree at the Royal Conservatory of Music "Victoria Eugenia" in Granada.
When the year 2004 arrived, having more time to dedicate to his music, Miguel Duarte Alonso, under the pseudonym of "Piraña D.", released his first solo Demo at the end of June, titled: "Pequeña muestra de dolor". In it he was the composer and interpreter of all the instruments and voices that appear, besides having done everything else; cover design, mixes, etc. (it is necessary to add that from the beginning of his solo career, Miguel Duarte Alonso makes his work without any collaboration, taking care of everything entirely; from the composition and interpretation of all the instruments, the drums are made with a Boss Dr. Rhythm 770 drum machine, using patterns invented and created by himself for each song, to the realization of the mixes, design of the covers, etc, as I said before).
What Miguel Duarte Alonso offers in "Pequeña muestra de dolor" is a work of melancholic, dark and intimate character, but without leaving aside his passion for electricity and the forcefulness of rock. The songs contained in this Demo are 6: -Al borde de las interferencias-, -Los sueños, sueños son-, -Mi vida anterior-, -Entre conciencia y placer-, -Vacía- and -Brisa del mar-.

Al siguiente año, 2005, La pasión que Miguel Duarte Alonso siente por la guitarra eléctrica y el mundo del virtuosismo, hace que desée enfocar su trabajo más hacia ese campo, por lo que saca una Demo a la cual titula: “Radiografía del sonido”, donde la protagonista indudablemente es la Guitarra Eléctrica. Está Demo está compuesta por tres canciones: -Ilusiones-, -Sentimiento mutuo- y -La mitad perdida-. Con esta Demo deja de utilizar el seudónimo de "Piraña D.", pasando a utilizar como nombre artístico su nombre real; Miguel Duarte. Se hace eco de esta Demo Óscar Sancho, cantante del grupo de Heavy Metal -Lujuria-, el cual además dirige y presenta el popular programa de radio; "Rockcinante" (Mariskalrock). Óscar Sancho le propone a Miguel presentarlo en su programa realizándole una entrevista y emitiendo los temas de su, por aquel entonces, nueva Demo; "Radiografía del sonido". Miguel Duarte Alonso conforme y agradecido accede a aparecer en el programa y dicho evento se materializa el 14 de diciembre de 2005. Entre las felicitaciones que Miguel Duarte Alonso recibió fruto de aquella entrevista hay que citar la que fue una muy grata sorpresa; Robert Álvarez, guitarrista de los míticos -Ángeles del Infierno- se puso en contacto con Miguel Duarte Alonso desde Miami para felicitarle por su música y su forma de tocar. Ese detallazo es de agradecer.
De "Radiografía del sonido", al igual que de "Pequeña muestra de dolor" se escribieron muy buenas reseñas, como por ejemplo la que aparece en el mes de mayo de 2006 en la importante y conocida revista de hard rock y heavy metal: -HEAVY ROCK- (hoy en día -LA HEAVY-) en su número 273; en una buena reseña se condecora a la Demo "Radiografía del sonido" con -cinco Haches- o lo que és lo mismo; la cataloga de “Cojonudísima” (palabras textuales de la revista).

The following year, 2005, the passion that Miguel Duarte Alonso feels for the electric guitar and the world of virtuosity, makes him want to focus his work more towards that field, so he releases a Demo which he titles: "Radiografía del sonido", where the protagonist is undoubtedly the electric guitar. This Demo is composed by three songs: -Ilusiones-, -Sentimiento mutuo- and -La mitad perdida-. With this Demo he stops using the pseudonym of "Piraña D.", using as artistic name his real name; Miguel Duarte. This Demo is echoed by Oscar Sancho, singer of the Heavy Metal band -Lujuria-, who also directs and presents the popular radio program; "Rockcinante" (Mariskalrock). Óscar Sancho proposes to Miguel to present him in his program doing an interview and broadcasting the songs of his, at that time, new Demo; "Radiografía del sonido". Miguel Duarte Alonso agreed to appear in the program and this event took place on December 14, 2005. Among the congratulations that Miguel Duarte Alonso received as a result of that interview, we must mention the one that was a very pleasant surprise; Robert Alvarez, guitarist of the mythical -Angeles del Infierno- contacted Miguel Duarte Alonso from Miami to congratulate him for his music and his way of playing. That detail is to be appreciated.
Of "Radiografía del sonido", as well as of "Pequeña muestra de dolor" very good reviews were written, as for example the one that appears in May 2006 in the important and well-known magazine of hard rock and heavy metal: -HEAVY ROCK- (nowadays -LA HEAVY-) in its number 273; in a good review the Demo "Radiografía del sonido" is decorated with -five Haches- or what is the same thing; it is catalogued as “cojonudísima” (textual words from the magazine, which is a colloquial way of saying "very good").

En marzo de 2006, con la intención de dedicarse a la docencia, a la didáctica musical, obtiene en la Universidad de Almería el Certificado de Aptitud pedagógica (C.A.P.) con la calificación de sobresaliente. 
En 2007, el gran deseo que siente Miguel Duarte Alonso por investigar y explorar en sus raíces, en la cultura de su tierra, y trabajar dando su propio toque a todo ello, es decir; aportar su propia visión actual y personal, intentando descubrir nuevos horizontes musicales, hace que saque una nueva Demo a la cual titula: "Desde Mis Ojos". En esta Demo de carácter más experimental aún que sus anteriores, Miguel Duarte Alonso trabaja incluso con palos del flamenco como la bulería, la soleá o la seguiriya, respetando sus compases por ejemplo, pero desde la libertad que tiene el crear un nuevo estilo, todo ello con melodías nuevas y frescas e instrumentos más cercanos a estilos más eléctricos y metaleros. Decide que toda la Demo sea instrumental, al igual que su anterior trabajo; “Radiografía Del Sonido”, porque en esos momentos desea seguir expresándose utilizando más el lenguaje de la música que el de las palabras.

In March 2006, with the intention of dedicating himself to teaching, to music didactics, he obtained the Certificate of Teaching Aptitude (C.A.P.) at the University of Almeria with the qualification of outstanding.
In 2007, the great desire that Miguel Duarte Alonso feels to investigate and explore in his roots, in the culture of his land, and to work giving his own touch to all this, that is to say; to contribute with his own current and personal vision, trying to discover new musical horizons, makes him release a new Demo which he titles: "Desde Mis Ojos" (From My Eyes). In this Demo of even more experimental character than his previous ones, Miguel Duarte Alonso works even with flamenco "palos" like bulería, soleá or seguiriya, respecting their rhythms for example, but from the freedom of creating a new style, all this with new and fresh melodies and instruments closer to more electric and metal styles. He decides that all the Demo will be instrumental, like his previous work; "Radiografía Del Sonido", because in those moments he wants to continue expressing himself using more the language of music than the language of words.

En 2008, Miguel Duarte Alonso se hizo cargo de todas las guitarras en un tema titulado "Promesas" en el que colaboró con el cantante y productor Luís Alcázar y con la cantante Inma Reivan. También se hizo cargo de todas las guitarras que aparecen en el elepé del grupo Com.pulsion: "Made in China" y fue el guitarrista de un Remix realizado a una canción del grupo De/Vision, titulada; "Life is suffering", perteneciente a su último disco: "NOOB" (hay que añadir que todo esto; tanto la colaboración en el elepé como la participación en el remix, etc, lo hizo Miguel Duarte Alonso de manera totalmente desinteresada). 2008 es además, el año en el cual aparece por primera vez en uno de los recopilatorios que realiza anualmente la premiada web musical; -BUNBURYCLUB-. El título de dicho recopilatorio donde Miguel Duarte Alonso aparece es; "Buscando algo distinto", y la canción elegida: "Como El Rosario De La Aurora".
En 2009, inmerso en la docencia, Miguel Duarte Alonso estuvo realizando cursos de análisis musical enfocados a profesores de Conservatorio, programaciones didácticas, etc.
Paralelamente a esto, junto a Luís Alcázar y Felipe Martínez, creó un grupo: DIGITAL GROUND, con el cual grabaron un EP. En dicha formación fusionaron rock con electrónica de una manera muy creativa y elaborada.
También hay que añadir que, en 2011, fue miembro de la banda de Blackened Death Metal; DAEVA, en la última etapa de esta.

In 2008, Miguel Duarte Alonso was in charge of all the guitars in a song titled "Promesas" in which he collaborated with singer and producer Luis Alcazar and singer Inma Reivan.
